Bodrum

Kissebuku Bay

Many of those who have been here say that the sea in Kissebuku is the most beautiful sea in Bodrum.
This is one of the most untouched bays of Bodrum. Access by road is very difficult. But the view, the cleanliness and clarity of the sea are simply magnificent.
Small coves are called “buk” in the extremely indented geography of the Southern Aegean. In fact, the word "buk" means "bend" according to the dictionary of the Turkish Language Association. From this point of view, it makes sense to call bends on the shores. Many small coves around Bodrum are called "buk". Kissebuku is one of the least known of them. It is little known because it is difficult to reach by road. The road is very gravelly, especially as you approach the bay, your vehicle is likely to be damaged. However, this will not always be the case. The number of 4x4-style high vehicles is increasing, and better roads will definitely be built for the popularization of the ancient city in the region, which will spoil the untouched atmosphere of Kissebuku. Yet this bay is still one of the hardest to reach. That's why it's so fascinating, even breathtakingly beautiful.

Where is Kissebuku?

Kissebuku, which is connected to Mazi district, is 20 km away from Bodrum. Contrary to the energetic atmosphere of Bodrum, the region is extremely calm and serene. This is a small bay surrounded by mountains. As of 2023, the mountains are covered with pine forests, as it has not been affected by the last forest fires in Bodrum. We hope these forests will always remain there.

Perhaps the most beautiful sea of Bodrum is here

Kissebuku beach is not sandy but pebbly. But the pebbles give the sea an extra clarity and turquoise color. For this reason, it is much more enjoyable to get in the sea from offshore, not from the shore, for example, by coming by yacht.

Many of those who have been here say that the sea in Kissebuku is the most beautiful sea in Bodrum. Moreover, because very few people come, the coast and sea are still very clean.

Swimming among ancient ruins is priceless

Kissebuku Bay is home to the ancient city of Anastasiololis. The bay is one of the intersection points on the coast of Keramus and Halicarnassus, two important ancient cities of the Carian civilization, which ruled the Bodrum region at the time. It is thought that Anastasiololis, which is considered a city of late antiquity because it was founded at the beginning of the 5th century BC, was abandoned in the 7th century with the onset of Arab raids. In some sources, the region where the ancient city is located is also referred to as Alakisla.

In the ancient city, where archaeological excavations are still going on, there is an acropolis surrounded by walls on a hill overlooking the whole bay, 200 m from the shore in the north of the bay. Acropolis means an inner castle in ancient Greek cities, usually located on a high hill, surrounded by walls, and containing palaces, temples and other important structures.

On the coast, there are structures belonging to the early Christian period. There are ruins such as a baptistery, a church, a chapel adjacent to the church and a bath, tower and cistern.

When you come out of the sea, you can find yourself in the middle of these ruins.

This is one of the indispensable destinations of yacht trips. Come on, join those who discover this little-known beautiful bay with a yacht you can charter from “yatkiralama.com”.
