If you want to explore the beauties of Bodrum and the poetic landscapes offered by this unique geography from other perspectives, you should definitely try trekking in Bodrum. Going for a walk in the woods and sometimes in the maquis hills of Bodrum will be good for both your health and your soul. There are many trails where you can trek in Bodrum. The most important and enjoyable of these is the Leleg Road.

The Leleg Trail is calling you

The Leleg Road was one of the most important trade routes in the Caria region, which includes Mugla and the Bodrum Peninsula. This road has been turned into a wonderful trekking track in recent years and has been given to Bodrum as a gift. The first part of the Leleg Trail consists of a 22-kilometer track. The total length of the track, with the eastern stage that follows, reaches 185 km.

If you want to walk this road from start to finish, you need to spare at least 5 days. If you are not an experienced hiker, we do not recommend completing the trail, but the Leleg Trail as a whole attracts a lot of attention, especially from foreign tourists. Of course, it is possible to divide the Leleg Trail into several stages. The most enjoyable stages are listed below. Attention! The road is not very difficult, but you should definitely take the necessary equipment and precautions for your safety!

Konacik - Pedasa Track

This track, which starts from Konacik, 5 km from Bodrum, extends to Gokceler Castle and Pedasa. You walk on the path for about 2 hours on this track. Along the way, you come across tombs in the form of domes. Pedasa is one of the best preserved ancient cities among the Lelegian cities. We have often mentioned in our previous articles that there are not many historical artifacts left today because the Leleg civilization is very old.

Golturkbuku - Gokceler Track

Another enjoyable route starts from Golturkbuku and ends in Gokceler. Gokceler is the name given to the ancient city of Pedasa by the locals. So with this track, you arrive at Pedasa again. At this stage, a walk of approximately 4 hours awaits you. On the way, you can see Leleg settlements and unforgettable landscapes. You can take a long break under the pine trees at Gokceler Castle, your destination.

Gokceler - Gebe Church

If you continue walking east from İncirlikuyu Mevkii after Gokceler Castle, you will have started a new 4-hour stage. You will first arrive at the Gebe Church, which is actually a tomb, and then go down to Torba and finish the track.

Lets. Now is the time to move. Grab your gear and hit the road. You will pass through pine, olive and eucalyptus trees, bird sounds and goat herds will accompany you on the roads. Your Bodrum holiday will be crowned with memories you will never forget thanks to this walk.
